Qur'an 67:14 Al-Mulk

أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلْخَبِيرُ

Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted?

Saheeh International

What it says

A question with its answer inside it. Man khalaqa reads two ways, as the subject, does the maker not know, or as the object, does he not know what he made, and the grammar leaves both open onto the same reply. The two names then say how the knowing works: latif is fine enough to reach into small places, khabir is knowledge of a thing from the inside.

Word by word

أَلَا alā does not · يَعْلَمُ yaʿlamu he know · مَنْ man the one who · خَلَقَ khalaqa created · وَهُوَ wa-huwa and he is · ٱللَّطِيفُ al-laṭīfu the subtle · ٱلْخَبِيرُ al-khabīr the aware
