Qur'an 2:37 Al-Baqarah
Then Adam received from his Lord [some] words, and He accepted his repentance. Indeed, it is He who is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

What it says
Adam is not left in the fall. He is given words from his Lord, and the turning back in forgiveness follows directly from that. The verse states the outcome before it ever quotes the words themselves, closing the episode on repair rather than on the offense.
