Qur'an 2:31 Al-Baqarah
And He taught Adam the names - all of them. Then He showed them to the angels and said, "Inform Me of the names of these, if you are truthful."

What it says
Adam is given something the angels are then asked to produce and cannot: the names of things set before them. The test is staged deliberately, with the teaching stated first and the challenge to the angels following it, so that what Adam holds is shown rather than argued for.
