Qur'an 70:4 Al-Ma'arij
The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.

What it says
Taʿruju comes from the root of maʿārij, so the ascents just named are now being climbed. The angels and the Spirit go up to Him, and the climb is set against a day whose measure is fifty thousand years. The measure is given in human counting; it states the scale of the distance, not any delay on Allah's side.
