Qur'an 64:16 At-Taghabun

So fear Allah as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allah]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.

Saheeh International

What it says

The standard is explicitly scaled to what a person can do, then widened outward into listening, obeying, and spending, with the spending named as a good done for the giver rather than a loss to him. Success at the end is tied to one specific guard: being kept from the stinginess native to one's own soul.
