Qur'an 87:14-15 Al-A'la
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ
He has certainly succeeded who purifies himselfAnd mentions the name of his Lord and prays.
Saheeh International
What it says · verse 14
The surah turns back to the other man and states his outcome in the past tense. Has succeeded, already, as a finished thing, said about somebody who is still alive and still working at it.
