Qur'an 78:10-13 An-Naba

And made the night as clothingAnd made the day for livelihoodAnd constructed above you seven strong [heavens]And made [therein] a burning lamp

Saheeh International

What it says · verse 10

Night is described as clothing rather than as darkness. A garment covers what should not be seen, keeps in warmth, and is put on and taken off on a schedule, and the night does all three for the whole earth at once.
