Qur'an 103:2 Al-'Asr
إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ لَفِى خُسْرٍ
Indeed, mankind is in loss,
Saheeh International
What it says
The verdict is given on the whole species and given first, before any exception. Not that man may lose, but that he is in loss, present tense, as a standing condition.
