Qur'an 112:1-4 Al-Ikhlas
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One,Allah, the Eternal Refuge.He neither begets nor is born,Nor is there to Him any equivalent."

What it says · verse 1
An instruction and then an answer. Someone had asked what Allah is, expecting a description in the terms they already used for gods, and the reply refuses the terms rather than filling them in.
